We are passionate about cocoa. Where it's grown, how it’s grown and who's growing it. We invest in building partnerships with farmers in both established and undiscovered territories of the cocoa belt, the narrow zone that lies between 20°N and 20°S of the Equator. These degrees of latitude, where we source uniquely flavored cocoa, are also the inspiration for the name, ASEMPA Sourcing.

Using cutting edge technology, we are able to provide total transparency of supply chain, ensuring we can create mutual benefit for growers and customers alike. The dedication and expertise of our local teams enables us to bring the most interesting and flavourful cocoa stories to life.

Chocolate is one of the world’s favorite foods but growing cocoa is not an easy task. However, Fairtrade, UTZ, RAINFOREST ALLIANCE are helping to make it more sustainable.

In Ghana, over 1.6 million people engage in cocoa farming. Cocoa has been the major backbone of the Ghanaian economy since it serves as a foreign exchange for the country.

Research has shown that, cocoa farmers are faced with a lot of challenges. These include but not limited to the fact that; most cocoa farmers have limited knowledge about good agricultural practices; lack of technical-know-how; farmers lack access to agricultural input which can help in the development of their farms and also, most of the youth in our part of the world seek other career paths for better life and see cocoa farming as “not their thing”.
